Alba Dewatering Services Ltd. are recruiting a NEC Contracts Manager.

With over 30 years’ experience in the design, supply and installation of groundwater control systems, Alba Dewatering Services are able to offer unmatched levels of knowledge and expertise with ‘real world solutions’ to groundwater problems.

Our services encompass all aspects of a project’s needs from consultation, design and installation to training, analysis, monitoring, maintenance and project management for a wide range of challenges in a wide variety of sectors. Based in South Derbyshire, we take advantage of being positioned within the Midlands and have quick access to all major motorways, which allows us to service the entirety of the UK market.

We are currently recruiting for a full-time Construction Contracts/ Commercial Manager to join our team and help deliver exceptional dewatering solutions across the UK.

The purpose of this role is to take responsibility for all aspects of commercial management of projects with end-to-end ownership, from contract negotiation through to final account settlement.

We are looking for someone with minimum of 5 years’ experience in NEC Contracts Management. The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator who is client focused with good commercial awareness. You will work in a small office team and your role will form part of the Alba Management team. This position requires a high level of self-motivation, excellent written & verbal communication skills with a positive attitude and an eye for detail, as well as being a team player with a collaborative approach. A willingness to learn about our field of construction and commitment to business success is essential.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Contract Negotiation

  • To be the contractual and commercial lead within the Alba Management Team, proposing approval of sign-off on contract terms and conditions to the Senior Alba Management Team
  • To negotiate contractual and commercial risks along with contract terms, scope and pricing
  • To be the gatekeeper for contractual compliance during project delivery, alongside creating & maintaining project records & documents for use in supporting claims of variations
  • To ensure timely submission of contractual notices and supporting data
  • To engage with each customer on a monthly basis to review project status, discussing & resolving any issues

Project Cost Control

  • To maximise project revenues and cash flow through cost control management; forecasting vs actual, and budget management
  • To pro-actively identify variances between planned budget and incurred costs, and ensure actions are taken to minimise costs and liabilities
  • To regularly review sales & margin data of assigned projects and propose actions to maintain or improve performance.

Debt Control – working alongside the Admin team

  • To assist with the collation of information required to generate applications for payment
  • To support with the preparation of payment applications and final account submissions
  • To review & sign-off on application & invoice detail and value prior to submission to customers
  • To assist with ensuring on-time receipt of monies through customer communication

Commercial Reporting

  • To produce internal project reviews; report risks, financial performance and progress to the senior management
  • To produce monthly / quarterly project forecasts per assigned project for review
